What is AviClear?

AviClear is a noninvasive treatment that targets acne at its source.

It uses a revolutionary 1726nm laser to selectively target the sebaceous glands beneath your skin. Your sebaceous glands produce sebum, a natural oil that’s a leading cause of acne.

A series of AviClear treatments can help regulate your sebaceous glands without any of the side effects associated with traditional acne ointments and lotions.

Who can benefit from AviClear treatment?

Consider AviClear treatment at North Pacific Dermatology if you have any of the following:

  • Whiteheads
  • Blackheads
  • Pimples
  • Nodules (painful bumps under the skin)
  • Cysts (painful, pus-filled lumps)

AviClear is safe for all skin types and effective against mild, moderate, and severe acne.

How do I prepare for AviClear treatment?

Wash your face prior to AviClear treatment and don’t apply any makeup, lotion, or ointment to your skin before visiting the office.

Your North Pacific Dermatology provider might shave excess hair on your cheeks, forehead, or upper lip to improve the laser’s accuracy.

What should I expect during AviClear treatment?

AviClear is a safe outpatient procedure that takes about 30-45 minutes.

During treatment, your North Pacific Dermatology provider uses a handheld laser to precisely target the sebaceous glands beneath your skin. The AviClear laser has a built-in cooling device that reduces the heat, allowing for a comfortable and relatively pain-free treatment experience.

AviClear is a cumulative treatment, requiring more than one visit to work. North Pacific Dermatology usually recommends at least three AviClear sessions spaced about one month apart to maximize the results.* Additional treatments might be necessary if you have severe or persistent acne.

How is recovery after an AviClear treatment?

Most people find that they tolerate the treatment well.

After your appointment, it’s normal to experience mild redness and skin irritation. Avoid extended sun exposure for at least 48 hours.

To maintain your results, always wear sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or higher, eat a nutritious diet, and drink plenty of water.

Consider AviClear treatment at North Pacific Dermatology if you’re tired of living with acne. Call the nearest office today to schedule an AviClear consultation, or book your appointment online.
